- We live in a old house with low ceilings thus could only accommodate a hugger fan, the fan is quiet and works better than we figured it would - we run the family room one at medium or high, in the family room the lighting could be better but that is the tradeoff for having a fan without a lightkit - we did not have the room to to that, the lighting in the bedroom is fine as the fan is right over the bed
